Climb through pine and hemlock forest to the open top of Silver Mountain on the Ashuelot River Headwaters Forest in Lempster.  If we hit the timing just right, there will be some delicious blueberry snacking opportunities on the summit, as well as dramatic views to the west across the Connecticut River and into Vermont’s Green Mountains.  Mount Moosilauke, Mount Cardigan, and Lovewell Mountain are also visible from Silver Mountain on clear days.  This is a moderate, 1.5 mile hike with 540 feet of elevation gain.  Bring lots of water, snacks, sun and bug protection, and wear sturdy hiking shoes.  No dogs on group field trips, please.

This event is part of a series presented by the Society for the Protection of NH Forests, WMUR, and Stay Work Play NH to help participants get outside this season and to showcase conserved properties around the state.
