Fourth of July Fun in Southern New Hampshire!

Tomorrow is the Fourth of July! Are you the kind of person that likes to go out and enjoy the big shows around the region or do you like to put on your own firework display? Perhaps you enjoy walking in the local parade or watching from the sideline as members of the community gather to celebrate together in the humid heat of a New Hampshire summer. However you choose to spend your holiday, you won’t lack in entertainment or firework resources in the Granite State.

For a listing of fireworks, parades and celebrations around the state, check out this great list from Parenting Magazine.

For those of you that want to celebrate at home, there are several big firework stores in the area. Check a few of them out here:

Hooksett Fireworks

Atlas Fireworks (Amherst and Londonderry)

Alamo Fireworks (Londonderry)

From the first year I moved to New Hampshire over fifteen years ago, my family has spent our fourth of July at Holman Stadium, laying out on the field as the firework show exploded right above us. It was certainly one of the coolest things I’d ever seen, coming from Colorado. In the years previous to that, Colorado had been in a big enough drought that the only legal fireworks were snakes (not terribly exciting), and people generally tended to drive to Wyoming to get their fireworks, hiding as police cruisers drove by to find the culprits with the blasting noise! Having legal fireworks is something that I have enjoyed ever since, and I look forward to lighting up some sparklers, taking a bite of fresh strawberries, and having a blast.

The weather will be hot, the beverages will be cool, and the company will be fantastic! Wishing everyone an exciting and safe holiday as we celebrate our nation’s battle for independence.
