Internship Description

Pharmacy Technicians (PTs) work collaboratively with Pharmacists, Nurses, Doctors, and Insurers to support a positive patient experience. PTs work in different areas across Dartmouth-Hitchcock including the Outpatient (retail), Inpatient (hospital) and Specialty pharmacies.

The PT training program is 9 weeks long and consists of classroom didactic instruction and a pharmacy practicum. You will be hired into a Trainee role at D-H, earn a training wage, and have the ability to earn college credits. At the conclusion of the class room training, you will sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. As a successful graduate, you will be promoted into the role of Certified Pharmacy Technician in the pharmacy and enrolled into a 2,000 hour Registered Apprenticeship with the U.S. Department of Labor.
