TRRE is a 15-month program for people interested in becoming math or science teachers for students in elementary or secondary rural, high need schools in NH. Applicants choose 1 of 6 certification areas: Elementary education with middle school math or science (K-8), Secondary education with science or math (7-12), Elementary education (K-6).
TRRE includes graduate coursework, a community internship, and a full year residency in a rural school with a mentor teacher. Teaching Residents earn a Master of Education (M.Ed) and teacher certification in exchange for 3 years teaching in a rural, high-need NH school. University of New Hampshire provides induction support during the first two years of teaching.

Eligibility: Earned bachelor's degree prior to beginning the TRRE program, minimum undergraduate 3.0 GPA, undergraduate major (or substantial course work) in either science or mathematics, Seeking initial teacher certification, passed Praxis Core. Apply: Submit an application to the University of New Hampshire Graduate School. Choose a program: Elementary teacher education or secondary teacher education. Submit: Supplemental TRRE application.
