5 Fun Upcoming Events

I refuse to let this summer fun end! Even though I see the first leaves starting to change, kids back at school, and apples ready for the picking, there are still a few more days where the sun is blazing and the weather is hot. Below are a few (figuratively) cool spots and happenings all coming up in the next couple of weeks. I will definitely be attending at least three of these and will try to make it to all, so keep your eyes peeled for a guy with glasses, a red and white striped hat, and a red and white striped shirt.

  • Weekend on the Water

September 6-7 – Everett Arena, Concord – Exciting two day event featuring 22 Dragon Boat races, bands, Super Duck Tour Rides, craft beer festival, and Concord Crew races.  What’s a Dragon Boat, you ask? Well come on down and find out.

  • Dr. John

September 13 – Prescott Park, Portsmouth – See a legend of American music, Rock N Roll Hall of Famer, and quite frankly the best fedora wearer this blogger has ever seen up close and personal at the magical confines of everyone’s favorite NH ocean-front park.

  • Hillsborough County Fair

September 5-7 – 4-H Youth Center, New Boston – In the mood for a fair? I dare you to say “no.”  This is my favorite fair for a few reasons: the scenic drive to get there, not having to worry about layers (because it is always really hot) and the endless parade of merriment are just a few.

  • Le Vent du Nord

September 20 – Colonial Theater, Bethlehem – I saw this French Canadian folk quartet a few years back, and vowed to see them any and every time possible. Check them out live, or look their music up online, you will not regret it. They are constantly touring, and visit many different New Hampshire and Vermont theaters, so if you can’t make it to the Bethlehem show, fret not, they will be around again, and again, and again. Their sound is simply amazing.

  • Warner Foliage Festival

October 11-12 – Warner Center, Warner – Yeah, I know it’s not technically “summer” by the time this one comes around, but it is a magical time up there, and every single person reading this should plan on attending. Mark your calendars…. Do it.. right now, go ahead…. thanks.

I hope to see some of you out and about, getting the last of the summer sun. We’re not done with you yet, Summer 2014!
