A Contoocook Stop, Everyday

I recently visited Contoocook to check out a new-to-me place for lunch called The Everyday Cafe.

Contoocook is really not that far away from Concord (about 15 minutes from my office) and the cute town is worth the trip anyways. The Everyday Cafe is located right downtown next to other shops and restaurants and the historic old covered railroad bridge.

It was an unusually cool, rainy June day when we arrived at the cafe, so hot comfort foods and coffee were in order. You can view their full menu here, but we settled on a veggie burger and a grilled cheese. It’s hard to see in this picture, but Jim’s Jammin Grilled Cheese is stacked with four kinds of cheese, roasted tomatoes, and three slices of bread. They even make their delicious breads and potato buns in house!

The Everyday Cafe is good for more than just lunch, though. They have a large counter of White Mountain Coffee and baked goods (look at that strawberry tart!) as well as nightly events like trivia and open mic nights. I will definitely be going back for their expanded pub menu, NH beer and cocktails, more desserts and their all-day breakfast menu. From maple BBQ shrimp tacos to pad thai, French Tooky Toast and build your own quesadillas… there are flavors for everybody, everyday.

The Contoocook location is a great downtown spot – how great are their decor and seating options?! But a little known Everyday Cafe fact is that they have a second location in Concord, inside the Banks Chevrolet at 137 Manchester Street! You can see their Concord menu here, which includes many sandwiches, wraps, soups, and breakfast items. You don’t even have to be buying a car to stop by for lunch!
