What inspired you to start Calling All Cargo?

I believe that by forming a great Moving and Storage service in NH we could provide jobs for Veterans, Military, College Students and Athletes in NH. I want to maintain a strong and healthy work environment and have fun doing it.

What motivated you to keep pushing through the hard times?

Calling All Cargo Moving and Storage opened in 2007. Very excited about our new endeavor and ready to take on the moving world, the housing bubble burst and the Real Estate market had crashed. Meanwhile, I kept a positive mental attitude and was actually grateful to be a small start-up instead of a large sized business thinking about layoffs. I believe setting realistic goals and putting a plan together to achieve them was key. We set standards high and did not cut corners even when times were tough.

How do you juggle your business, family, and volunteering?

I have a great support network around me that makes sure we accomplish our mission. Planning and scheduling are key to ensuring we deliver on what is promised. If you are hired on at Calling All Cargo, you understand that volunteering and giving back is part of our culture. The addition of my twin boys, Wesley and Wyatt, in 2013 definitely came with its own set of challenges and time demands. Having an open line of communication with everyone in my life has made it possible.

What part of your business are you most proud of?

We receive feedback from our customers after their moves are completed. I would say 99% of the comments I get back are from people truly thrilled about the service they received. Sometime I get phone calls from customers who wanted to tell me personally how great their move was from the first call to the end of the move. We posted a voicemail from one of our customers on our website.

I’m very proud of the people who represent this company. Many of them donate their time to help with a variety of projects that seem impossible until we make it happen.

What advice would you give to other young entrepreneurs?

I feel that the best advice I would give is:

  • Always ask questions
  • Find out what is going on
  • Remember that each person can make a huge difference if properly collaborated
  • Get involved with the community and they will help support your goals
