Hello everyone! My name is Alexa and this summer I will be working on the Regional Insider’s Guides as an intern at Stay Work Play. These guides will showcase all the fun attractions that New Hampshire has to offer. With that said, feel free to reach out to share any of your hidden NH gems – be it places, events, or local attractions that you know and love.
After completing this internship in August, I will be heading back to Saint Anselm College to begin my first semester as a junior. There, I will continue to pursue degrees in both English and Communication, as well as work as a peer writing assistant for fellow students at my college.
When I’m not in class, I spend most of my time working as a waitress, being active outdoors, or volunteering at local organizations in the area. The organizations I have volunteered at in the past two years include UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center in Goffstown and Kids’ Cafe in Manchester. Giving back to the community is definitely a cornerstone of life as a Saint Anselm student and I feel fortunate to have learned the value of service through these experiences. Going forward, I will continue to make community engagement a priority in my life and I am excited to see how outreach through this internship will segue into this arena.
The activities I enjoy when I’m not at school or work include hiking, skiing, and exploring new places. I am currently on my way to completing New Hampshire’s list of 48 four-thousand footers and I plan to continue checking new hikes off my list this summer. I also plan on visiting some of our local beaches to surf and spend time in the sun.
Although this is is my first internship, I am excited to see how this experience will expand my awareness surrounding the diverse range of opportunities available in New Hampshire. There is so much to learn, see, and experience in this state and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my newfound discoveries with everyone through the creation of these guides.
