We’re Off to See The Wizard of Oz [in Portsmouth]

the wizard of ozStrobe lights, sassy talking trees, and adorable munchkins — Oh my!

You may think you’ve experienced The Wizard of Oz, but think again. I urge you to join Dorothy at The Seacoast Repertory Theatre as she takes you on a journey from Kansas to Oz in the blink of a twister strobe light. Dorothy’s imagination is creatively examined throughout the theater’s play space as she embarks on an adventure with new friends, Scarecrow, Tinman, and the Cowardly Lion (and Toto of course, too!).

Performances are at The Seacoast Rep Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

With the recent Keep the Rep Going! IndieGoGo campaign, you can sense that this particular show has an extra dose of passion interwoven throughout the acts. The cast comes together as a talented troupe, and the beautifully choreographed dance and song routines instantly bring you back to the childhood experience of discovering this classic gem. I especially loved the tiny munchkins bursting with talents and enthusiasm, and the unexpectedly sassy trees found along the path to the Wizard’s home. seacoast rep facebook

I know this is a busy season, but, I recommend taking a break from the shopping bustle and slide into a seat at The Seacoast Rep for a well deserved escape over the rainbow.

This show is directed by former Rep Artistic Director Craig Faulkner with musical direction by Catherine York and choreography by John James Pirroni.

Get here before the curtain closes on 2014 and this show!
