Second Annual “A Night at the Quill” Event

The Second Annual “A Night at the Quill” in support of Easterseals NH is being held on March 29th at Southern New Hampshire University hosted by the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Last year I highlighted our inaugural event in a blog post, and I want to spread the word about the success of the event and our follow up this year, which is sure to be another memorable evening.

I am the faculty adviser to this motivated group of students interested in business. Throughout the school year they work hard inviting speakers to campus and competing in business competitions. A major part of what they do each academic year is helping to raise funds for the community. As future business leaders, they believe strongly in giving back and assisting those in the community. One organization that the students wanted to bring awareness to and raise funds for is Easterseals NH. Easterseals NH serves children, adults and seniors with disabilities and special needs. For more than 80 years, they have changed the way the world defines and views disabilities by making profound, positive differences in peoples’ lives every day. Last year they served 26,900 clients and families throughout the Granite State. We look forward to raising money to help them continue this important work.

Last March the group of FBLA students at SNHU held the inaugural “A Night at the Quill” event to raise money for Easterseals. The event raised over $6,000 for this great nonprofit that serves many in NH. 100% of all funds raised went directly to Easterseals.

This was a magnificent evening where students had the opportunity to interact with business leaders from the community. Many leaders spanning multiple industries were in attendance. After networking for the first hour, everyone headed into The Quill Restaurant which is located on the Southern New Hampshire University campus and enjoyed a wonderful five course meal planned by culinary students. One of the highlights of the event was the fact that students dined with guests. The business leaders enjoyed that part of the event the most. Students and business leaders were able to learn from each other while enjoying a fabulous dinner. Students learned about the business world while guests were able to see just how bright the future is thanks to these students.

In addition to selling tickets to the event, sponsorships and ads in the program book were sold. Anagnost Companies graciously sponsored our event, and we received support from many other companies such as the Hanover Street Chophouse, Franklin Savings Bank, Eastern Bank, Carpet Done Right, and NH Core Properties.

On March 29, 2017 we are holding the second annual “A Night at the Quill” event. A group of students majoring in Hospitality Administration are planning the event. They are planning a wonderful evening! More info about the event and tickets can be purchased here.
