Looking for a fun summer weekend get-a-way? Look no further the Waterville Valley. Most known as a ski destination, Waterville offers plenty of family friendly activities in the warmer months. Town Square is the center of it all with restaurants, shops, bike rentals and an Escape Room. Live entertainment livens up the square all summer long.
A favorite activity of mine is hiking the many trails in the area. You have so many options from the short and steep Mount Tecumseh to the long and rewarding views of Mount Osceola. I always joke that the last 1.5 miles up Mount Tecumseh are a test of wills. The trail features and stone staircase that feels like it will never end, but the view at the top makes the struggle worthwhile.
Mount Osceola is one of my favorite hikes in the area offering a unique view at the valley below. From Tripoli road you’re only 3.2 miles from the summit and if you’re interested in bagging multiple peaks East Osceola is only a mile from there.
Another excellent way to spend time in Waterville Valley is on the links. The Waterville Valley Golf Club includes a beautifully maintained 9-hole course for golfers of all skills levels and views of the surrounding White Mountains. I have lost my fair share of balls to the water hazard on 9 and the tree lines on 3 and 4, but it’s always an enjoyable round.
So whether it’s time of the trails, time on the greens, or just simply time to relax and unwind, Waterville Valley has it all. Sit back, relax and enjoy your next great weekend get-a-way in New Hampshire.
