Manchester YP - Telling the Story of Your Cause @ Online

Join the MYP Community Engagement Committee and Eric Ratinoff, founder and Chief Storyteller of Story First, Co-Founder and Principal of The Mouse and the Elephant and Organizer at TEDxAmoskeagMillyard for an opportunity to fine tune your pitch and develop the story of your cause!

This workshop is in conjunction with our featured event, Find Your Cause, which connects Young Professionals with local Non-Profits. If you and your organization are selected to participate in the Find Your Cause event, you will have the opportunity to to take the stage to pitch Young Professionals on getting involved in your organization. But you’ll only have three minutes to make your pitch. What should you say in that three minutes?

One hundred and eighty seconds may not sound like much time to make the case for your non-profit, but if you’re clear about the story of your organization, it’s plenty. That’s why this workshop is focused on helping you get clear on your story, so you can effectively make the case for your organization, whether you’ve got 30 seconds, half an hour, or, in this case, just three minutes.

This interactive virtual workshop will reveal the infrastructure of storytelling, showing you what makes a story work and how to boil your organization’s story down to its essence, so you can make a quick, clear, and compelling case for the value it brings to the world. At the end, you’ll have a written 3-minute pitch that you can submit to participate in the Find Your Cause Pitch competition – and a clear story to tell about your organization, no matter who you’re talking to or how much time you have.
