College Internship Logistics/Warehouse Supply Chain Internship Summer 2020
The Logistics/Warehouse Supply Chain Management Intern will focus on the flow of materials in and out of the Manufacturing Warehouse to the Production areas and an analysis of storage requirements for Raw Materials, Corrugate and Chocolate. Assignment will require a review of existing warehouse operations, storage allocation and understanding of seasonal demands and the impacts it has to planning, warehouse productivity and capacity.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Review current distribution of materials to and from production lines and storage space allocation.
Complete an analysis of material flow to and from production lines and provide recommendations to improve productivity, JIT delivery and utilization of storage space
Collaborate with Warehouse, Production and Planning teams to define requirements for storage and delivery to production lines
Define optimum space requirements for chocolate, raw ingredients and corrugate storage in warehouse
Basic understanding of warehouse operations
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Strong analytical skills
Ability to collaborate and work with other team members
Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
Demonstrated ability to complete projects on schedule
Capable of multi-tasking while keeping attention to detail
Qualifications & Requirements:
Be a Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited University Degree Program – Preferably with a focus on Logistics or Supply Chain
Demonstrated proficiency with a computer and with MS software
Skills & Knowledge:
Process and results orientated
Team focused and collaborative
Ability to operate effectively and professionally in stressful situations
Ability to multi-task
Proficient in Excel and Word
Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
Must be a currently enrolled student with a minimum of 3.0 GPA.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills
