Stay Work Play, a New Hampshire nonprofit whose mission is to attract and retain more young people in New Hampshire, has announced the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors and a new slate of officers.
Joining the organization are Stacy Covey, General Accounting Manager, Planet Fitness World Headquarters; Janelle Gorman, Chief Financial Officer, TRM Microwave; and John Greene, Community Relations and Economic Development Specialist, Eversource Energy.
Co-chairing the organization in 2020 are E.J. Powers, Executive Vice President at Montagne Communications and Kaitlyn Woods, Senior Media Relations Specialist at Eversource Energy. Additional leadership team members include:
- Vice-chair – Carmen Lorentz, Executive Director, Lakes Region Community Developers
- Treasurer – Rachael Comstock, Controller, Iron Heart Canning Company
- Secretary – Johanna Halperin
Greene recognizes that “New Hampshire is a uniquely special place, particularly for young people, and the work that Stay Work Play does to promote and enhance our state is critical to creating a sustainable future. I’m excited to get to contribute to that future as a member of the Board!”
“I believe in the mission of Stay Work Play because I know New Hampshire is a great place to live, and still I think it could be even better. The state is often glanced over by people considering where to live and I think that’s a big mistake. New Hampshire has tremendous potential to be a preferred destination,” said Gorman. “It’ll take a strong workforce and enthusiastic community members to drive to that. I’d like to be a part of an organization that rallies the momentum we’ll need to bring New Hampshire to its full potential.”
Covey, a transplant to the Granite State, is “thrilled to have the opportunity to serve on the Stay Work Play Board of Directors! I grew up vacationing in the White Mountains until twenty years ago when my family finally fell so in love with the area we decided to relocate here full-time. It was the best decision we could have made, and I cannot imagine having grown up anywhere else. I went on to be a first-generation college graduate, where I experienced the very real challenges that come along with not only trying to afford an education, but also navigating life afterwards. I truly believe New Hampshire is the perfect example of the saying ‘best of both worlds.’ This is a state where you can be to the seacoast or mountains in the same day, while also having the ability to work for some of the biggest companies in the world. I look forward to using my involvement on this Board as a way to continue to promote the great opportunities this state has to offer!”
