Our Board of Advisors represents a dynamic group of organizations committed to driving workforce development, championing young Granite Staters, and who are invested in Stay Work Plays vision for a NH where young people want to—and can—stay, work and play.

JS: Supporting young talent and organizations like Stay Work Play is vital to the mission of the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester (MHCGM) because it aligns with our commitment to fostering healthy, vibrant communities. Young professionals bring fresh perspectives, innovation, and energy to the workforce, which are essential for advancing mental health care and creating a more inclusive, compassionate environment. By partnering with organizations that retain and empower young talent, we ensure the sustainability of our mission, promote mental well-being among emerging leaders, and build a stronger foundation for the future of our community.

SWP: How does MHCGM empower the next generation of leaders in New Hampshire?

JS: MHCGM empowers the next generation of leaders in New Hampshire by fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and support. With over 60 years of proven community leadership, MHCGM has established itself as a trusted pillar in advancing mental health care and building strong, resilient partnerships and communities.

We invest in our team through extensive training programs designed to develop critical skills and ensure excellence in care delivery. Through mentorship and executive coaching, we provide personalized guidance to help individuals achieve their leadership potential. Additionally, MHCGM offers opportunities for higher education through tuition assistance, enabling employees to pursue advanced degrees and expand their expertise while maintaining their roles within the organization.  This comprehensive approach to professional development ensures that our next generation of leaders is equipped with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to drive meaningful change and continue our mission of enhancing lives and strengthening communities.

SWP: What’s a fun fact or hidden gem about MHCGM that people might not know?

JS: We are serious about supporting our staff’s education and career goals!

At MHCGM, we recognize that the well-being of our workforce is essential to delivering exceptional care to those we serve. That’s why we prioritize not only the individuals and families who rely on our services, but also our dedicated staff through initiatives like our Wellbeing Committee.

This committee focuses on fostering strengths and resilience within our workforce by promoting a culture that values work-life balance. Understanding the unique challenges faced by those responsible for the care of others, the Wellbeing Committee encourages all staff to commit to a self-care plan that supports their mental, emotional, and physical health. 

Through resources, programs, and activities designed to enhance personal well-being, we create opportunities for staff to recharge and maintain their passion for their important work. By prioritizing the well-being of our employees, we ensure a healthier, more engaged workforce, which ultimately benefits the entire community we serve.
